Our Staff

The Reverend Chad M. Eckels 

Pastor Eckels was installed as Associate Pastor of St. Paul’s on March 16th of 2003 and accepted a call to serve as Senior Pastor on November 20, 2011.

Pastor Eckels had previously served as pastor of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Oberlin, Kansas were he was ordained in 1998. He graduated from Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska in 1994 and Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, Missouri in 1998. He also has a Masters of Science in Family Life Ministry from Concordia University - Nebraska.

Pastor Eckels is married to Patty, also a 1994 graduate of Concordia Seward. They have three married sons: Jonah, Joshua, and Jacob. 

The Reverend Case Farney

Reverend Farney was ordained and installed as Associate Pastor on August 4, 2024,

He was born in Evansville and grew up at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Evansville. His vicarage year was spent at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Seymour. He graduated from the University of Evansville in 2020 and from Concordia Seminary in St. Louis in May 2024.

In August 2023 he married Jozie. They have a daughter, Zoe.

The Reverend Futao (Gary) Liu

Pastor Liu was ordained and installed at St. Paul's on July 30, 2023.

He grew up in mainland China. While working at an International School, he became familiar with Lutheran Theology and decided to go into the ministry. He received an M.A. in Theology/Cross-Cultural Ministry from Concordia University - Irvine in 2021. He completed his vicarage at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Hacienda Heights, California, and graduated from Concordia Seminary in St. Louis in 2023. He is currently working on his Ph.D. at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis.

Pastor Liu is married to Honghao (Eileen) and they have two children, Enyan and Irena.

Tim Horst, Music Director

Tim has served as Director of Music since June of 2000. He is a graduate of Concordia University Nebraska, where he received a Bachelor of Music Degree in 1999. He also earned a Master of Church Music Degree in 2011 from Concordia University Wisconsin.

Tim and his wife Kim, also a graduate of Concordia Nebraska, have three children: Joshua and  Eleanor who are both married, and Willa, who is currently a student at Memorial High School.

Zona Morgan, Church Secretary

Zona grew up in Evansville, IN. She graduated from Bosse High School in 1973 and Deaconess Hospital/USI in 1976 with an Associate Degree in Radiologic Technology.

She has been a member of St. Paul’s since 1980. Zona and her husband Dennis have 3 children: Adam, Luke, and Ellen, and several grandchildren.
